Realtime Converter window allows you to perform simultaneous sound input either from a microphone or any other sound source and Realtime Music Recognition into MIDI format, based upon current recognition settings. Realtime Module is called by pressing Realtime button on the main toolbar.
Record MIDI starts recording of the recognized MIDI notes.
Auto Record starts recording of MIDI notes as soon as first note is detected.
Stop stops recording. If you press Record MIDI again, your previous record will deleted and you will start recording from the beginning.
Options invokes Options Dialog and allows you to choose a WAVE input device.
Settings allows you to set up Realtime Recognition Parameters and MIDI file options for conversion.
Equalizer displays the Equalizer window. Equalizer settings are applied instantly, you do not need to close it to see the result.
Windows Mixer enables you to set up the system mixer.
The following options and settings are also available:
Convert Now checkbox enables Realtime Conversion of the inputting sound.
Play MIDI Notes checkbox enables instant simultaneous playback of the converted MIDI notes.
Recorded Data indicator shows you the duration of the recorded MIDI sequence.
Algorithm list lets you choose among several recognition algorithms. Chosen algorithm enables extra controls for adjustment.
Polyphony slider appears when "Polyphonic - Sensors" algorithm is selected. It allows you to adjust the threshold for detecting several notes that sound simultaneously.
Harmonic Filter slider appears when "Monophonic - Sensors" algorithm is selected. It allows you to avoid capturing of the overtones instead of fundamentals.
Noise Gate slider allows you to adjust the noise filter to prevent undesirable sounds being recognized as notes. Adjust it carefully, in order not to lose the essential sounds.
Level indicator shows you the level of inputting sound, which may be adjusted by the system mixer (see Mixer Settings button). Recommended peak level is -15..-5 dB.
You may adjust the recognition parameters without breaking the recognition process; all changes apply as soon as they are made. However, when MIDI recording is turned on some controls are disabled.
To finish conversion and proceed with the recognized MIDI notes press Done. The new file will be opened in a new MIDI window.
To cancel the conversion press Cancel.
